About Me
Dr. Jo
My fascination with the human psyche and desire to help others set my desire to pursue a career as a psychologist from the age of twelve. After several years working in hospital and clinical settings, followed by thirteen years in private practice as a Clinical Psychologist specializing in trauma, I eventually embraced a holistic path, gaining life, wellness, and spiritual coaching certifications, and becoming a yoga, barre, Pilates, meditation, and mindfulness instructor. This diverse background enables me to tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs and goals. Continually expanding my knowledge, I regularly enroll in new courses and training to better serve my clients. My most recent accomplishments include completing a second 300-hour Yoga Teacher training, Reiki, and Somatic Science training.
As an advocate for social justice, I volunteer with Humanize My Hoodie, promoting racial and social justice, and as a committee member on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging Committee of the Minnesota Chapter of the International Coaching Federation. I also serve as an ambassador for the Eating Disorders Coalition, which champions research funding and treatment for eating disorders, and I volunteer at Yoga For Eating Disorders.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing poetry, hiking, yoga, Pilates, barre, music, spending time with loved ones, traveling, zip-lining, learning new things, and laughing.
